Coping with darkness
As the days get shorter and colder, we tend to strive for warmth and light. Wintertime is definitely beautiful, especially when you live in a place that gets snow every year, but the lack of sunlight can be hard on our minds. If you’ve heard of – or suffer from – the SAD syndrome, then you’ll know what I’m talking about here.It’s perhaps our nature that we’ve learned to work in favour of our psyche. There are several ways to fight the gloom, and they may even turn winter into your favourite season – or at least one whose joys you can appreciate. Can you see those snowflakes dancing outside the window? Make yourself a cup of tea and allow yourself to watch them aimlessly for a while. It can do wonders for your mind.
