A minimalist prayer stool / meditation bench that’s ideal for your daily rituals and spiritual practices. A collaboration with AKI’s sister brand Animacontemporanea, it’s made from ash wood and is strong and durable yet lightweight enough to carry around.

Ash is known for its pale golden colour and silky surface, and it has long held spiritual appeal. It was considered sacred by the Druids, used by the Ancient Greeks to symbolise hardiness and burned by the Romans to ward off evil spirits. It also appears in Old Norse cosmology as Yggdrasil, an immense tree at the centre of the world around which all else exists. It’s a very sustainable material, as it’s widespread, quick-growing and able to withstand harsh conditions.
